The Writing Across the Curriculum program works to build a community of instructors across campus who are interested in teaching writing and supporting student learning.
Faculty from all disciplines are welcome to participate, whether they teach writing-intensive courses or simply include writing assignments in their classes.
WAC Chats are informal faculty conversations focused on teaching writing across disciplines.
These sessions provide a space for instructors to:
- Share strategies for supporting student writing
- Discuss challenges in teaching writing
- Explore new pedagogical approaches
- Learn from colleagues across campus
Topics may include:
- Designing effective writing assignments
- Teaching argumentation and critical thinking
- Integrating AI and digital tools into writing instruction
- Inclusive and anti-racist writing pedagogy
- Responding to and assessing student writing
WAC Chats are intentionally collaborative and low-stakes. Participants are encouraged to bring questions, examples from their courses, or ideas they would like to discuss. For upcoming events click here.
