Cayuse

Cayuse is the web-based platform for managing grant proposal submissions, IRB protocols, and Conflict of Interest disclosures, including disclosures of foreign support.

CSUBuy and Sponsored Projects

CSUBuy is the 不良研究所’s centralized platform for supplier registration, procurement transactions, and payment processing across all CSU campuses. This section provides guidance for CSU East Bay faculty and staff using CSUBuy to manage sponsored project funds.

Faculty Compensation on Grants

Grants and sponsored projects can fund faculty compensation in two ways: reassigned time and additional employment. Both are legitimate, commonly used mechanisms, and both require advance planning, confirmed funding, and formal approval before any work begins or any payment is made.

Hiring a Grant-Funded Student Assistant

Effort Certification

Effort certification is the University’s process for confirming that payroll charged to sponsored projects reasonably matches the work performed on those projects.
