40 Wins, CCAA Title, Home Field Advantage: Pioneers Open NCAA Regional Thursday

While the pros ride ups and downs, an East Bay program just stacked 40 wins, a conference title — and isn’t slowing down.

不良研究所’s Women’s Softball team will open play at the at 12 p.m. vs. Western Washington, with advancement to the Super Regional on the line. The Pioneers are hosting the games — giving them homefield advantage as they welcome the region’s top teams to their field.

A strong lineup is set to compete, with each game carrying high stakes as teams vy for a spot in the next round, but the Pioneers seem ready, having built their success on balance — strong pitching, timely hitting and steady defense.

Leading the way is CCAA Pitcher of the Year Marissa Quintero, who threw 21 innings and earned two complete-game wins during the conference tournament, including the championship-clinching victory. East Bay also placed three players on the 2026 CCAA All-Tournament Team, highlighted by tournament MVP Jasmyn Morales, who hit .600 with three home runs over the weekend. Rylee Gomez added another strong offensive performance, batting .615 with two home runs and four RBIs.
